The Hype of Hurricane Sandy

Every college student on campus is crossing their fingers for no school on Monday due to the wrath of Hurricane Sandy that is supposedly coming our way. Deja vu from last year when the October snowstorm happened. Maybe its a new tradition! My sister Nicole is very concerned at the fact that Halloween might once again be postponed, as is everyone I'm sure.

Half Way There

Well, reflection on the first half of my first semester. It went by pretty fast! I feel like the first few months are going to be the slowest because every other month (except February) has a break! Yay!

So I didn't have any midterms so Im not exactly sure where my grades stand. But Biology is kicking my butt and Pre-Calc isn't as horrible as I thought it would be. I love Chemistry and my freshman seminar is a waste of 50 mins...but whatever it "Enriches our minds with the community of Quinnipiac"

I have kind of changed my mind about what I want to do. I am still going for my undergraduate in Behavioral Neuroscience, but I am also aiming to enter the Masters in the Arts if Teaching Program, which I can apply for next year. It starts junior year and sets you up to get your masters in 5 years! Its one of the top Education Program in the state next to UCONN, so its a pretty competitive program. But I am trying really hard to get into it. I want to work with kids, specifically the younger ones (hence the behavioral neuroscience background) so I can learn how kid's brains grow and develop in order to teach them.

So thats where I am right now in my academic college life. YAY ME.

R.I.P Skittles

Today I lost my dorm room pet. His name was Skittles. I had him for about 3 weeks. Which is a record for me and a fish. I am also positive it was due to the fact that i accidentally got Purell in his bowl. But now I know for next time!!! Life is a learning process, thats what I always say! Skittles you will be missed! (until i get a replacement.....)

downstairs......

I had to venture downstairs to the first floor to do some much needed laundry. As I opened the door to the hallway my nostrils were filled with an overwhelmingly repulsive aroma. Basically a mix between sweat, dirty clothes (specifically socks), and moldy food. BOYS ARE SO GROSS.

1:00am Can Man

Last night while I was trying to get my usual 8 hour beauty sleep I was awaken to the sound of something hitting my dorm window. My roommate and I quickly got up to see what the heck was going on and found 5 drunk guys outside in the courtyard with plastic bottles and soda cans. (Its a Sunday night....really guys!?) We ran to the room next to us because they woke up too and yelled out to them "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING?!" And they said they were looking for Courtney (No one named Courtney live in our hall.....) So we told them go away and went back to our rooms. Two minutes later, plastic bottles start to hit our windows again. So I took matters into my own hands. Melissa=VERY cranky when someone wakes her up. I called Public Safety and they arrived on scene and we all were questioned about what had happened. We are unaware what happened to the perps but I hope they learned not to mess with Melissa Kimberly Fryer and her 8 Hour Beauty Sleep.

Good, or Bad?

Every Monday and Wednesday when I arrive back at my lovely dorm from my 8am class, I find myself taking a 3 hour nap.... Don't know whether this is a bad habit or a good way to catch up on some z's but oh well!! It saves me from falling asleep in Pre-Calculus which I need to put ALL my attention towards.
